Originally from Grand Rapids, Michigan, I moved to Montana in 2008 to attend Montana State University where I received a Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Design and a Master's Degree in Architecture.
I dedicated much of my time outside the classroom towards independent design projects ranging from small scale design/build installations to custom furniture pieces. In the Spring of 2012, two fellow architecture students and I formed The Good Design Collective, a group focused on creating design work in the fields of Architecture, Furniture, Product Design and Graphic Design. I learned to work collaboratively in a professional setting, gain insight on the realities of the business world, produce design work in a timely manor and improve upon my skills as a craftsman.
I find great joy engaging with design problems, both big and small. It is an opportunity to think conceptually about a situation and realize its solution may not be the most obvious. By exploring the creative process, I am able to continually refine my understanding of the vast potential within the world of design.
I currently live and work in Portland, Oregon.
